Teapot with Ash Textured Rim
Woodfired Teapot
This is one of my favorite teapots from the last year. Something happened to its lid after loading and we ended up finding it over 3 feet away from where it was placed, near the bottom of the sidestoke. My best suspicion is a mouse broke into the kiln and moved it before the firing started. Despite this the lid survived, fits perfect and has a cool funky surface to tell the story.
This Teapot was fired for 3 days in the train kiln and reduction cooled. It was thrown and altered on the wheel and textured. My teapots are hyper-functional and feature a built in strainer for loose leaf tea. They do not dribble and pour extremely well. They hold enough tea for one person to enjoy a 12oz cup or two people to share 6oz cups. Made with local North Carolina Clay.
